Season of Mess

As the host of Get Messy, it’s assumed that I love messy creating, that I’m easy-going, and that letting go in art comes easy to me. It does not. Not even a little bit. I am pedantic and particular. I have a strong disdain for liquid glue and paintbrushes. Even as a child, I actively avoided sandpits and dog slobber.

However, I know that in order to get to the good stuff, I have to allow some of the mess. I’ve got to let go a bit. Even very rigid, high organised and planned letting go is still letting go. Get Messy is a rallying cry for the messy and the un-messy. It’s a reminder that imperfection has diamonds, and so does the pursuit of it.

This month is a celebration of all of that.

Roben-Marie provides ideas, inspiration and quality instruction for hobbyists and art entrepreneurs. She teaches artists from beginners to those making a living from their art through her blog and her popular online workshops.

As an artist, blogger, woman of faith and founder of Maker’s Tech U, her mission is to serve others and help them get the most out of their art as a hobby, or as a business.

She lives in Florida with her husband of 32 years, loves to read, bake, travel and also has a heart for mission work, having served in Panama, El Salvador, Romania and Honduras.
