Sneaking around fear

It’s Billie here!
Using silly faces to ease into drawing faces. I want to learn to draw faces, and I’m totally intimidated by it. In 2018 I did 30 days of drawing faces just to make myself try. The faces could be wonky, the features all “wrong”, and that was OK. It was OK because I just wanted to stand up to the intimidation of perfection., make a crack in the wall.

Action Steps
What intimidates you?
Faces? Botanicals? Urban sketching? For 5 days, break the ice – just do it! Strive for imperfection, I hope you’ll see that you’ll knock fear down a bit…and build momentum in the process. Enjoy!

After retiring from 40 years in the technology industry, Billie is a late bloomer. Art journaling has become a means to explore her inner and outer life, and have crazy fun!
Love your faces, Billie! So expressive and they convey their emotions so beautifully. For me my fear is going back to my beginnings with oil paint at the moment and my ever-fear for a few years now: drawing comics.
Oh, I love this. I am about done with Botanicals and about to start Sketching Faces, and I think this will be a good break in between to resist that evil perfection!
The faces are so exciting, I love them!
I was just thinking about faces today, and here you are! I’m going to try it. xox
Thanks for the kick in the butt Billie!
So fun! Going to try too!
Such a good idea! I’m going to have to give a thought to what I’d like to focus on. Faces is a good one. This could keep me busy for a while! Thanks so much!!
I love your faces! What an interesting idea. Thanks for sharing! Very inspiring.
Faces are extremely difficult to me. I may have to give it a go.
