Wonderful! I will definitely start my own Joy Notes scrapbook. So often, I forget just what it was I loved about something I did. Now, I’ll have this little book to refer to.Thanks so much!

This is such a great idea, thanks for sharing and I must say how inspiring your faces are with the watercolour and gesso colour. So gorgeous!

Thanks so much for your kind comment, Clare! I am grateful for the discoveries I have made pressing on with portraiture. My next journey will be figures. πŸ™‚

This is super inspiring Ali! I went ahead and got myself a binder and some plastic pockets to be prepared for this post beforehand. I laughed my head off while watching the video when I realized that I had bought the exact same binder as you, even the colour πŸ™‚ !

This idea is genius! I think I need to keep a separate notebook now, esp. for all the bits that other artists do that I like. Cause I often find myself admiring someone else’s work/style, but forgetting exactly why or what it was I liked about it. I think this is a great way to keep all those little bits we “steal” from others (and ourselves) to use at a later time. Thanks for sharing your Joy Notes with us Ali!

That’s absolutely right, Tiffany! I have a mini class coming out from a couple older videos that were on Patreon and it’s about finding that ONE thing that you love about the people you admire…and then making a recipe for your own art. After I made that video I knew I needed to do that for myself too. I love the way your brain thinks! πŸ™‚

I know I’m a bit late to this but I just watched the video and oh my gosh this is a perfect idea! I will often find some little thing like testing colors together or doing a cool doodle on the corner of a piece of paper and discover some amazing little thing that I love! I have tons of papers and cut out bits everywhere! You’ve just given me the best idea on how to consolidate them! Thank you!
