Hello artists, Alicia here to kick off the Season of Play with an art journaling game! Games are fun for all ages, and today, I am going to introduce you to a fun and easy game we can play while we art journal. This is also a perfect game to play when you are stuck or looking for a way to art journal without having to think too much! Join me as I show you how to play and share a peek at the art journaling spread I create during the game!
Supplies:
- Art journal
- 1 or 2 dice
- Art Journaling Process List PDF
- Art materials to complete the tasks from your process list
Tutorial:
This game can be adapted to use 1 or 2 dice, and you can pick any task to assign to the numbers you roll. The PDF list I provide is a starting point. Feel free to use your favorite process tasks or challenge yourself to try a few new process tasks (it will be a good way to try something new in your art journal). We can’t wait to see what art journaling spreads you create while playing this game. Share them using #GMSeasonsofPlay and #getmessyartjournal.
Now it’s your turn:
- Get 1-2 Dice
- Select 6-12 process tasks and assign each a number (depending on wether you use 1 or 2 dice)
- Begin rolling the dice and completing the process task you roll
- Play until you feel your art journal spread is complete!
- Share your art journal spreads with the Get Messy community.
- Most important: Have fun!!
