This season we are exploring the light and the dark. The beginning and the end. The opposition, the juxtaposition.
THE CONTRAST
We are experimenting with differences. We are exploring what is and what is not. Through prompts and tutorials this season we plan to challenge you to think about the other side of the coin, the what could have beens, what you oppose, what lurks behind the door and so much more. We are going to mix and match mediums and ideas and techniques.
This season will hold a lot of contrast for you….Are you brave enough to explore it with us?
To prepare for the Season of Contrast you simply need to choose your journal and layout a few of your favorite supplies. Hopefully you learned a few new tricks and found some fun new materials through Art 101.
We suggest choosing a journal that is just right for you. Not too big, not too small. Be sure there are enough pages to make it through the season, but if you are new try to avoid overwhelm by not picking a journal with too many pages.
You can get a jump start on creating by making a list of ideas you have. Whenever you think of ‘contrast’ what immediately comes to mind? Create a list of word associates, ideas, images, etc that you can pull from as you work this season. See if you can even create a title page for this season using your ideas about contrast. We can’t wait to get started!!

Meet this season’s guest artist
